My name is Stephanie (you can call me Steph) and I love being a part of the New Heights community as the secondary English Language Arts teacher! I graduated from Drake University in 2015 with a BA in English and a BA in Journalism. In 2022, I completed my Masters of Arts in Literature and English Studies with a graduate certificate in teaching writing from Minnesota State University- Mankato. I have a bit of an interesting career background. Before making the switch to teaching, I worked in marketing and communications in the nonprofit sector.
The students can attest, I am a huge nerd when it comes to literature. There's so much literature can teach us about the human experience and I strive to bring that message into the classroom every day.
In my free time I love to read, go to the movies, play tennis, and spend time with my husband and beagle, Cooper.
